Check-up & Xrays

A regular check-up helps support better oral health.

Having regular routine dental check-ups means you’re less likely to need emergency care. It will also cost you less in the long run!

What do we do?

A routine check-up and x-rays check-up includes;

  • Full check-up of your of your teeth and gums

  • Standard dental x-rays

The dentist will carry out a full visual check-up of all areas of your mouth.

Standard dental x-rays will be taken to help with diagnosis and prevention of decay and disease.

How long does it take?

Normally around 30 to 45 minutes

What are standard X-Rays?

Standard dental x-rays are known as bitewing x-rays. you’ll usually have one bitewing x-ray taken on each side of your mouth. These help dentists to see what’s happening with your back teeth.

We may, if required, recommend taking panoramic x-rays. These show a full view of your whole mouth and are useful for diagnosing problems like impacted teeth, jaw bone abnormalities, benign cysts, tumours, infections, abscesses and fractures.

How often should you get Check-ups and Xray’s?

We recommend a routine check-up at least once a year.
