Are dentures comfortable?

We focus on making sure you feel comfortable during and after fitting your dentures in place. It’s common to experience some pain and discomfort with your dentures initially. We normally plan regular visits to the following the fitting, to help you adjust to your dentures.

We recommend a diet of eating soft foods and small pieces of food initially, and once you become used to your new dentures you will be able to return to your normal diet. 

How to clean and maintain dentures?

It’s important to keep your dentures clean as dentures are prone to stains, plaque and tartar build-up just like your natural teeth.  There is a recommended cleaning process for dentures involving the use of a denture-cleaning tablet in warm water.  This is followed by the use a soft brush and gently brushing your dentures just like your teeth. Once this is completed, rinse it thoroughly underwater.

This depends on a few different factors. Each situation can be unique. At the consultation appointment, we will examine your teeth and be able to give you an estimate of the price.

Before and after dentures

No special preparation is needed.  A medical and dental history will be taken at the appointment. 

After the appointment, soft diet is recommended for first few weeks following your denture fitting. Use pain relief medication if you need it, Use a cold compress to help control and limit swelling.

With proper care dentures can last for years.
